Many popular IP address lookup services report the administrative location as the geographical location, which is not accurate in the case of the Genesys CIDR ranges. The Genesys CIDR ranges actually operate within Genesys Cloud’s AWS regions around the world.

A satellite region is an AWS region that only provides media services as a part of the Global Media Fabric configuration. A satellite region cannot act as an AWS region for Genesys Cloud deployment. Satellite regions provide Global Media Fabric with additional locations for call/audio paths to minimize latency. Future enhancements will allow satellite regions to support call recording storage.
