A virtual agent is an AI-powered conversational bot that interacts with customers through voice or digital channels, performing many of the same tasks as a human service agent. It uses natural-language understanding (NLU) to interpret intent, retrieve information, and complete actions or transactions, and can hand off seamlessly to live agents when needed. Virtual agents enhance customer experiences by automating routine interactions and supporting the customer journey before, during, and after contact.
