Trunk reference

Trunks facilitate point-to-point communication. All of the Edges in an Edge group can share trunks.

Trunk types include WebRTC, SIP carriers, VoIP, Mobile, SMS, or proxy servers and each type of trunk has its own unique configuration requirements.

The following tables summarizes the characteristics of trunks used in the Genesys Cloud environment.

Trunks can be special purpose to handle only certain classifications of calls (Emergency, Local, Long Distance, International) or they can handle a mix including all.
